Construction Board of Adjustments and Appeals
Consists of five (5) regular and two (2) alternate members appointed by City Council for staggered two year terms. This Board hears appeals to Building Code, Fire Code, Housing Code and infrastructure standard requirements in Missouri City. Meetings are held when an application for appeal has been filed. City residence is required.

Electrical Board
Consists of five (5) members appointed by City Council for staggered two year terms. This Board hears appeals and other matters concerning the City's electrical regulations. Meetings are held when an application for appeal, or other matters make it necessary. Board consists of master and electrical engineers, and HL&P representative, and a citizen representative.

Missouri City Development Authority
On June 19, 2000, the City Council authorized creation of the Missouri City Development Authority to be responsible for the management of all Public Improvement Districts (PIDs) and Tax Increment Reinvestment Zones (TIRZs) created by the City. The City Council serves as the Authority Board. The purposes of the Authority are as followed:
- Act for the City in the City’s PIDs and the TIRZs.
- Implement project plans and financing plans.
- Develop policies to the finance development within the PIDs and TIRZs.
- Issue bonds with the City Council’s consent. (Note: Bonded indebtedness, loans, or other obligations issued by the Authority are not a debt of the City.)

Missouri City Recreation and Leisure Local Government Corporation
On May 4, 2009, the City Council of Missouri City approved the creation of Missouri City Recreation and Leisure Local Government Corporation. The sitting members of City Council are the Board of Directors for the Corporation. The specific objectives and purposes of Missouri City Recreation and Leisure Local Government Corporation are to aid and assist the City in providing a first class system of parks and recreational facilities to promote a healthful environment within the City of Missouri City.

Parks Board
Consists of nine (9) members appointed by City Council for staggered two year terms. This Board serves in an advisory capacity to City Council on parks and recreation policy matters. Meetings are held on the first Thursday of each month in the City Council Chambers. City residence is required.

Planning and Zoning Commission
Consists of nine (9) members who own taxable property in the City and are appointed by City Council for staggered two year terms. This Commission is the final authority on applications concerning the subdivision of land, and makes recommendations to City Council regarding applications for amendments to the zoning map and zoning ordinance. Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month at 7:00 pm in the Council Chambers.

Consists of nine (9) members for a staggered two year terms. Positions One through Six on the Board of Directors are appointed by City Council and positions Seven through Nine are reserved for other taxing units levying taxes within the Zone. They make recommendations to the City Council concerning the administration of the Zone; prepare or cause to be prepared and adopt a project plan and reinvestment zone financing plan for the Zone, and shall submit plans to the City Council for its approval. Meetings are called on an as needed basis.

Consists of five (5) regular members and four (4) alternate members appointed by City Council for staggered two year terms. This Board hears appeals in the enforcement of the zoning ordinance. Meetings are held on the last Wednesday of any month in which requests for variance(s) have been received.
